Steve’s ’69 Plymouth Road Runner

At first, Steve just wanted the engine bay painting and a few oil leaks fixing… he then decided to ditch the old 383 and go for a built 440! It comprised of KB Pistons, steel crank and rods, a comp cam, an aluminium intake, Holley carb and stainless steel valves.  A full seal kit went into the 833 transmission and a new Sure-Grip in the axle.  Some rewiring and the hood stripes finished the job.

Andy’s ’66 Dodge Coronet 440

Bozzy steps up, replacing the old Dart with a 1966 Coronet, which he brought over to us before hitting the strip.  New front suspension parts, brakes and push rods were fitted, along with the hood scoop and general MOT work.

Andy returned with the car prior to the 2009 season and it was given a full classic Super Stock paint job, becoming the ‘Spirit of Sixty Six’.

Mick’s ’68 Dodge Coronet

Mick’s Coronet underwent a full restoration at Billadeau Speed.  The 440 engine, built to stock appearance, features forged pistons and a hydraulic cam.  The body was fully restored and painted in original TT1 Light Metallic Green, with a bumble bee stripe also made up and applied.

Further work in July ’07 included changing the gears from 323 to 391, which saw ETs drop from 14.1s to 13.6s, and also MOT work on the front brakes and bottom ball joints.

At the 2012 August bank holiday weekend round of American Super Stock, Mick had a slight skirmish with another car.  Billadeau Speed was able to help Mick begin the road to repair before the car was taken to Ash Rawson’s bodyshop for a new side to be fitted.
