We rebuilt the 500ci Mopar engine for Ian’s stunning Jenson Interceptor.
1974 Dodge Challenger Project
This is the latest Billadeau restoration project, a genuine seventies factory backed Super Stock Dodge Challenger. The car was built and driven by Joe Allread during 1974 to ’75 before being sold to Dave Hendricks, who raced it through to 1979.
Powered by a 360ci motor with a Nash-Chrysler 4 speed and Dana 60 rear end, the Challenger ran an 11.56 @ 126mph during it’s final season in the SS/L class. The car was then parked and remained in storage right up until 2017 when it was imported to the UK by Duncan Watts. We took ownership in 2018 and set about bringing the car back to it’s best.
Thanks to Dave McCallan at McCallan Automotive a new rollcage was fitted, and we took the body back to bare metal.
The restoration continued throughout 2020 and we now have a finished article ready to hit the track! Hopefully it will go as well as it looks.
Matt’s 408
Built for Matt’s 70 ‘Cuda circuit racer, this 408ci small block Mopar produced 440hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque.
Adam’s 493
This 493ci Mopar came in for check over. It had 13:1 compression, broken pistons and rings, and bent valves – quite a mess. We dropped the compression to 10.8:1 and sorted all the problems, resulting in a 550hp street engine, with 550ft-lbs of torque. This will make Adam’s ’72 Challenger haul ass!
Jamie’s ’71 Plymouth Satellite
Jamie’s 1971 Satellite came to us as a stock 383 car. Now it’s had the full Super Stock treatment and has been kitted out with a 493ci, 685hp motor, a new transmission, a Dana 60, Caltracs, a roll bar and a period Super Stock paint job. Shake ‘n’ Bake!
Strip to Street ’69 Dodge Coronet
Another steady project complete. Here’s the ex Woody’s Wedge drag car returned to the street as a 440 Six Pack A12 Super Bee clone.
Car Chase Heroes Dodge Chargers
Hollywood comes to Billadeau Speed! This pair of Dodge Chargers belong to the driving experience Car Chase Heroes. Both Dominic Toretto’s Fast & Furious 1970 model and the Dukes of Hazzard 1969 General Lee were brought to us for suspension work.
Pete’s ’72 Plymouth Barracuda
Billadeau Speed rebuilt the 340 motor for Pete’s 1972 Cuda.
Tony’s ’66 Dodge Coronet
Tony’s Coronet came to us for wiring and various other tidying up jobs.
Jay’s ’70 Plymouth GTX
We rebuilt and refitted the 440 six barrel for Jay’s 1970 GTX, as well as completing various other jobs.
